Just for a bit of background on these special auctions, as I make my pendants and figurines, to me these are more than just casts. Being hand painted, every design is a unique piece of art, and has felt like the pendant is imbued with a bit of the essence of that individual character. As I create these characters, and as I paint the ornament, the story of the character is just as important as the colors and markings, and is consciously kept in mind throughout the painting process. To push the idea further, I've decided to introduce these limited character auctions. On top of the Shisa already being limited edition, these particular paint jobs will never show up again on another Shisa ornament. You'll not only be adopting your very own mini guardian lion-dog, but you'll be able to physically hold your new character! These will be a rare treat, only once every one or two months. It is my hope that these rare beasts give people a tangible way to explore personalities and adventures, which they can share with others in the form of ornaments, stories, and art!

Character Background:
For years all Stígandr had known was a life of patrolling his clan's borders. It was a strict and cold life, but having natural talents in this harsh job, he was able to hold his own. Age crept up on him in stealth, and it was only one injury that triggered a string of losses in fights. The injury wasn't visible from the outside, so if he was lucky he could use his intimidation to drive away his clan's enemies, but just one loss in his world brought his entire psyche to crumbles. Maybe it was time for this old Shisa to retire. Unable to take up a life as a normal clan member, for one extra freezing winter Stígandr took to wandering aimlessly. With no purpose or passion, his heart was empty. Mysterious paw prints from another Shisa led him that winter to ruins, quite visible despite the deep snow. In his contemplation, a bright, almost shimmering Shisa appeared. It was obvious that she was not of earthly linage, as her entire coat was a vivid blue, like shadows on snow, and her deep red eyes... It hit him - Stígandr's clan told of a certain class of Shisa that lived in the spirit world. They appeared to those who were doomed, right at the edge of their death. These legends could be a good omen, if the dying had lived their life to its fullest, but for those who still had a task to complete, these spirits were a sign of eternal wandering. No words were said, yet he knew why she was there, he felt the drive for life being rekindled in him! Even more curious, he knew her name, Asora. The vision of her ended abruptly, though the warmth of her presence still burned, leaving him ready to go. Yet, his feelings were mixed. The legends clearly state that these spirits appear to those at the edge of death. The dying. Was this a second chance at life, or the start of eternal wandering?
