Woo! Got out of school like… a week ago. Which means portfolio review is done. Yay ^_^

So the whole Illustrator class went pretty well me thinks. At least I’m still here… that’s a plus XD Actually, now that I’ve been able to explore the program a bit more, I have a few future projects in mind. Unfortunately my trial’s up, so I’ll either have to wait until school starts again or I’ll have to get the program and a new computer so I can actually run Illustrator o_o;. Hm. *Stares at empty wallet.* *Waits.*

Recently I’ve also quit my job at the retirement home for multiple reasons. Mostly, with senior year coming up, there’s just no time. I feel really bad for saying that… like I’m a wimp or something. But I’m not the type of person that can keep doing hundreds of things a day. And I need that time to get my foot in the professional world of illustrating. Still, I’m going to miss all the residents and the resident dog and my friends ;_; … and it’s really kinda frightening to think about attempting to make a living off my work. I’m just not sure it’s good enough. There’s really only one way to find out I guess :P

As for DA… ugh, same story. You know, I was so close to being caught up during the last break, but then my brain was like “you don’t want to post too much, people don’t like it when people spam their new deviations page. Besides, you’ve lots of work to comment on and bunches of projects to work on! Yay, make more stuff you’re not going to post! Add to that ever growing list of stuffs to post! @,@!!!!” Psh, stupid brain. So, yup, I’ll attempt, but I make no promises >_>

Anyway, hope everyone else is doing well, good night for now :)

Alright Illustrator...

It's between you and me... *glares at the screen... stabs at Adobe Illustrator a couple times... fails.* D: Nuuuuu!
Ahem. My brain really does not understand this program. But I really need to learn how to use it x_X Actually, I think I'm finally beginning to get the hang of it, but last time I thought that the teacher was all, "wow... um... fail." Soo... *crosses fingers* ;_;

So far this semester has been way busy, not much time for relaxing. But I feel like I'm keeping up with things for once, that break was really good to have =D (Psh, it's only been the first week, I'm not going to jinx it xD). And it looks like I have a kind of second job, can't say much now, but I'm really excited and hope it's going to go well.

Woah, random thought, my hands look really weird under this lighting D: Like they're all veiny. *Is a bit creeped out.*

Okay, break's over, only have an hour left, need to get this done. I'm going to attempt one of the more complicated images that's been giving me issues this past week. Wish me luck, *puts on a grim face and dives back into work.*

The Holidays and Wedding Pics

Hullo all ^_^
So, first off, since we got out of school for the holidays, I was planning to use the time off to post at least one deviation a day. Well, obviously, that hasn’t been happening x_X (Bad Crystal). Instead, my mind switched into ‘woah man, you can actually finish commissions and old projects now’ mode, so I haven’t really even been on DA except to occasionally take a quick glance here and there. Besides finishing projects, I’ve been using the time so far to find neat gifts for the family and pick up some extra hours at work. It’s a nice break from the usual ^_^

And before you go, as some of you may (or may not o_O) know, I helped take photos at my big bro’s wedding. Jenn’s dad (who I did the photography with) posted all our pics here:

It’s the first two albums ^^ And I must apologize ahead of time, as I’ve said many times before, I’m really not meant to be a professional photographer, and I tend to get carried away, and neither one of us had time to go through and delete the goof-up pictures in Crystal’s album… *cough* o_O;;;; Anyways though, it was a fun time, not all stiff and formal, much more about celebration. So, there are a few funny pictures, landscape stuff, neat dress, and so on, so even if you don’t know anyone hopefully they’ll still be interesting xD

Happy Holidays everyone!

Eee! *Happy dance*

Ok, I don’t (think) I normally post about concerts and such, (although I should, music is absolute love). But, this has been a very happy night. Plus, I can’t sleep… the computer’s right here, may as well post on my sadly inactive deviant journal xD
Ahem, anyway, just got back from TOOL, my most beloved band EVER. When I saw them the first time a while back, well, it was very disappointing. Not exaggerating when I say it was the worst concert I’ve ever been to. I’m very glad to say that it was not the band, it was the people there, (*cough* mostly the guy next to me yelling “yeah! I hate/love that song! YEAH!” >_> ) , the venue, and the fact that from where I was not a bit of the stage could be seen. X_x
Well, my mom and I went again (after that last one, I had to take her again to see Tool in a better light), and it was amazing! From where we were sitting, there were no overly crazy people. Although, we went with some neighbors, they were sitting on the third floor, and I guess some guy jumped off the ledge… that’s pretty crazy… o_o hope he’s okay tonight, that was the only one that I know of that got carried away. The lighting and visuals were beautiful, they all added to the show; none of them seemed out of place. The band seemed to be in a good mood, so obviously their hearts were in the music, and it was neat hearing the drummer from the opening band play along side Danny (at least I think it was the guy from TransAm o_O). I do kinda wish they had Maynards mic up, there were a few parts that people had a hard time hearing, but nothing to ruin the overall concert.
And to top it off, the one song I wanted to hear because it’s so close to my heart right now- Wings (1 and 2)- they played. I must say, I did sniffle a little when they played it, too bad we didn’t wait for them… it would have been nice to thank them in person for playing the song with enthusiasm tonight. Oh! And Flood was on the set list. Which is just… yes. That song is filled with awesome. xD Now, if only they would play Pushit, Jimmy, and Reflection live, crystal would be one happy happy person xD
Anyways, wow, really rambling on now, *is smelly and needs sleep* xD For anyone who attempts to read this… sorry if it makes no sense. *Hasn’t been making much sense all day.*
Woo! G’night, happy Thanksgiving all!

Okay animal lovers, we need your help!

Long story short, my good friend Lauren has been taking care of an injured stray dog, and unfortunately Kaze (the dog), needs her leg amputated –very- soon! Luckily, she has a lot of kind hearted people willing to do all that it takes to give her the life she deserves, all options have been looked into, and a donation fund has been set up in honor of Kaze. Every little bit helps this pup, even if it’s only a few dollars, those dollars add up to getting her the surgery she needs!

------
UPDATE:
Okay, because Kaze wouldn't get the help she needs soon enough here, Lauren is going to take Kaze to a shelter in Utah called Best Friends Animal Society today after classes. The donations will now be going to any expenses of the trip and any money left will go to the charity vet clinic that Kaze has been getting care at so that more animals like Kaze can get the needed care. For more details, and updates, go here [link]

I'll keep everyone updated over the weekend on Kaze as we get more news :)
------
Yay!
So, good news all around! Kaze's donations made it to $500, and she only lost her dew claw and a toe (as opposed to her whole leg o_o!) And, to top it off, another student here at RMCAD will be giving her a good home =D It's so heart warming to see how many people care about another living being, thank you all again for helping out

Full story here: [link]

Donation fund here: [link]

Thank you, and much love to anyone who can help and/or spread the word
